Yesterday, I was at the gas station, filling my little gas can, to refuel the forklift. I handed the attendant a 1000 peso note. Which in the past was essentially a 20usd bill
Which also got me to remembering my time in 2009, stuck in California. Guy I know bought sonething, and he said "Shit, i just smoked another hundred" Other times, he spent a 20 and said the same about that
6 months ago, I filled my little car on 1700-1800 pesos
22 years ago, I went here with a inch thick stack of 1000 peso notes, and could not spend it in 2 weeks.
I could smoke that stack in a day now.
BUT
I learned some things.
I built my life so that, not having some magic paper coupon called money, is not a immediate crisis.
I have no rent for my home, I offset my power bill with solar, no car payment. I have knowlage. I have resources and skills to build and make things. When I have a few extra pesos, I buy extra food. So my pantry is pretty well stocked.
I obsess about learning, and building. Despite every day it is some random bullshit, and my true meaaure of success is to earn enough to get away from dumbass people.
