DIY Nitrogen fertilizer

 https://youtu.be/brfSLxoHUps?si=eY15i82QNsV46cde

Plasma Channel has a even better version than what I posted earlier..  except...

I got a even better one.

He uses a magnetic stir bar, but i would suggest using a bubble stone and aquarium pump to stir it.

Second, measure the output using a timer and nitrate tester, then calculate how much water you can drip thru the system for constant production.

Third run tbe nitrated water thru a barrel of limestone, then into a carboy.  more stable calcium carbonate.

re comment.. nothing interesting was lost on the microfilm.  Cancelled checks and bank statments from 20 years ago.

DIY Anti Drone Sentry

Project Sentry Gun: Build Your Own Autonomous Tracking Turret

Over a decade ago, I built my first sentry using a laser pointer and a bunch of 3D-printed parts. It was a fun weekend project that sparked something bigger. Today, Project Sentry Gun is one of the most complete, open-source autonomous targeting systems available.

Important Build Notes (Please Read)

Before diving in, here’s a critical tip that isn’t covered in every guide:

Do not use a GoPro or any camera with a rounded wide-angle (fisheye) lens. The distortion at the edges of the frame will throw off your aiming calibration. While the center of the view can be calibrated accurately, moving targets near the edges will be misaimed. Stick with a standard webcam with minimal distortion for best results.

Welcome to Project Sentry Gun

Project Sentry Gun is home to one of the most versatile, fully open-source sentry gun systems on the web. Our system autonomously detects, tracks, aims, and fires at targets using:

  • An airsoft or paintball gun
  • A standard webcam for target detection
  • A computer to process the video feed in real time
  • Servo motors for precise aiming and trigger control
  • A custom controller board to bridge the computer and hardware

What makes us unique is our commitment to complete openness. Everything is open-source:

  • 100% of the code
  • Full electrical schematics
  • CAD design files for the Standalone Controller

The project has been built and deployed on six continents and in more than 20 countries — it’s even used by the Australian Navy in their training programs.

Want to Build Your Own?

You’re in the right place. Everything you need is freely available:

  • Complete step-by-step build guide
  • Full source code (free and open-source)
  • Electrical diagrams and CAD files
  • Active community forum with builds, troubleshooting, improvements, and ideas from other makers

Hundreds of people have successfully built their own sentry guns using this system. Whether you’re a hobbyist, educator, or just love robotics and computer vision, this project offers a rewarding challenge.

Have fun, stay safe, and happy building!

Want to build your own?

You're in luck! All the help and information you will need is here, and the software is free and open-source. Lots of people have already used this system in their own sentry guns, with successful results. Check out the links on the left side of this page for all the resources you will need, including a step-by-step guide to the entire build process. After that, check out the forum to see others' completed sentry guns, sentries in progress, ideas and improvements, and FAQ's.

there are several newer open-source sentry/turret projects, though none seem to have the same level of polish, documentation, and longevity as the original Project Sentry Gun (which dates back to ~2010–2014). Most modern alternatives leverage Raspberry Pi + OpenCV (or more advanced AI like YOLO), which offers better performance than the old Processing + Arduino setup.

Key Trends in Newer Projects

  • Raspberry Pi dominance — Easier all-in-one processing (no separate laptop needed).
  • Better computer vision — OpenCV for basic motion, or YOLO models for object/person detection.
  • Hardware upgrades — Stepper motors, LIDAR for distance, Coral TPU/Google Edge TPU for faster AI inference.
  • Use cases — Fun builds, garden pest control (pigeons, geese, cats), cosplay/Portal-style turrets, or office pranks.

There are also many one-off Instructables, Hackaday.io, and YouTube builds (e.g., AI water gun turrets for pigeons or Portal replicas from late 2024).

Comparison to Original Project Sentry Gun

  • Original — Very complete docs, forum, CAD files, controller board, proven across many countries.
  • Newer ones — Often simpler or more experimental. They benefit from modern hardware (cheaper, more powerful SBCs) and libraries, but may lack the same depth of community/support.

Recommendation: If you liked the original, start with Shooty or the Hacker Shack project for a modern refresh — they’re easier to adapt with 3D-printed parts and current webcams.

They lie to us constantly.

They lie to us and tell us it is a conspiracy theory.  But why then multiple countries proposiing and enacting the exact same laws simultaniously??  Alex Jones is right.  Again...

and this one... hahaha

Nose Ring Law

Nose ring is a law at this point. As much as the sun rises in the East, or Newtons laws.

I am so sick of this hippie era beatnick commie nonsense.  Theories formulated under the influence of hard drugs and mental illness by wackjobs on draft deferrments in the universities.   They get older, get into power and corruptd this generation.

Innovator's Lonlieness

**The Innovator’s Loneliness**

I was sitting at a table in Subic with a group of people who work with plastic waste. On the table in front of me I had real products — furniture I made from fluff plastic, different sizes and colors of consistent lumber, and printed tarps of stuff I make. Actual things you can use and build with.

I tried to explain what I see: that some of the messiest, most difficult plastic streams can be turned into proper, usable material at scale. That post-industrial sheets nobody wants because they’re printed could feed real production instead of just being collected or stored. I wasn’t pitching a theory. I was showing them what I’m already doing.

Only one person in the room actually understood what I was talking about. And even he didn’t say, “Let’s do this.” He just got it. That was the high point of the conversation.

Everyone else either looked confused or gently steered things back to what they know — cleanups and EPR credits. That’s where almost everyone is right now. The work is still mostly about getting plastic out of the environment and helping companies meet their compliance targets through collection and reporting. Actual production — consistently turning waste into sellable products — is still rare. Most people and organizations haven’t really stepped into that part yet.

So when you sit there with finished furniture made from the fraction everyone else struggles with, or you talk about taking several tons of printed PETG sheets and feeding them into a production process, you’re speaking from a different place. It’s not that people don’t care. It’s that their entire frame is still removal and compliance. Cleanup is visible and fundable. Production is slower, less certain, and requires a different way of thinking about the material.

That’s the loneliness I’m feeling right now.

It’s not dramatic. It’s the quiet understanding that I’m already thinking about manufacturing, consistency, and higher-value uses while most of the room is still organized around collection and credits. I keep running into the same gap. I have several tons of clean post-industrial PETG sitting here — good material, just printed — and it’s hard to move because the people who could use it aren’t yet thinking in terms of production. They’re still thinking in terms of cleanups.

The strange thing is that this loneliness also tells me something useful. If most of the activity is still at the cleanup and EPR stage, then the space for real production is still wide open. The people who are already making consistent products from difficult streams have more room than it feels like on the surface.

I’m not going to keep trying to explain the full picture in rooms that aren’t there yet. I’m going to keep building what I can actually build, keep the proof in front of me, and look for the smaller number of people who already think in terms of making things instead of just moving them. The furniture is already here. The lumber works. The PETG is still waiting for someone who wants to run production with it.

Being this far ahead feels lonely sometimes. But it also means I’m not competing with many people yet. I’m just early. And I’d rather be early and a little alone than surrounded by people who can’t see the next step.
